I'm happy to see you addressing the issue of new English speakers being treated badly by Americans. It really bugs me. With all the problems in the world, we need to bully and hassle someone who's trying to learn a new language? How ridiculous, how small minded, and how incredibly rude.
Author's Response: Thanks, I'm glad I was able to convey that properly. I have taken two languages (Spanish and French) and I'm currently learning German so I totally agree with you, in my opinion as long as someone tries to speak the native language of the country he or she is in, then it's okay that they may not be able to speak it perfectly. Sadly enough I know quite a few people personally who think everyone should know English so they don't have to learn another language. Personally if I go over to Europe I want to be able to speak to the natives in their own tongue, not mine, so as long as someone tries, I'll help out no problem.
