They waited and waited for a couple of hours. The twins were getting bored. But then their father came home. Simone gave him a nasty look, and perhaps, if they were somewhat older, the boys would have understood that something was wrong, but they didn't.
That paragraph almost made me cry. Ugh, this fic is steeped in sadness and you both do it so well. Great job.

Author's Response: they are not supposed to be fleshbacks. it's supposed to be the twins' life in a short version. everything important that happened before Fade away. then, there are Bill's last words, and Tom's life in the time after Bill's death. yeah, I know it's complicated.
