This is a really awesome story. You make it full of delicious angst without making it cheesy, and that's hard to do.
The only two little things I wanna say are: You sometimes put the word "has" when it should be "had," because 'has' signifies present-tense, and this is obviously past-tense. :)
And, though it's probably too late for this, I find your chapter titles a tiny bit spoilery. Like, I could guess what would happen. Unless you intended it like that.

Author's Response: Thank you! I appreciate that. I don't have a beta and tend to not really read over my work before I post it, so it's helpful when people point out the mistakes. Well, you can't really have a story without been spoilery in SOME way. I basically write what I want and whatever I feel should come next. I don't intentionally make it predictable or un-predictable. My intention is to stay true to the progressing plot and the characters, and if you find that a bit spoilery than it's alright with me because if I kept throwing curve balls the story would not end up in a specific direction where it has been leading all along. I really appreciate the feedback, thank you!

oh my goodness, this story (especially chapters 7-9) gave me butterflies and heart-ache at the same times. I have to admit, my favorite part was when tom stormed through the shed door. that pulled on my heart.
