I have left a review on other stories of yours, but wanted to say that I enjoyed this one too!

Fun story!

That, and the most important thing about writing fiction is that the reader be able to lose themselves in your story. When they encounter words they don't understand, it makes them realize they're reading and that's a very bad thing.

I enjoy your fiction very much. I'm just saying...big words are for hyper-inflated egoists who require officious pontification to glean gratification from their own compositions. In other words, people who care more about what they think of their writing than the people they're writing for.

Author's Response: I understand your point of view of course. When I wrote this I was going through a phase of exploring the english language and I was getting tired of using what seemed to me, the same words, over and over. I get that it jolts the reader, but at the same time, I write as much for myself as I do for others. This was an experiment that probably went somewhat awry from a reader's perspective, but, for me, I enjoyed learning a bunch of hyper-inflated, egotisical-looking words and trying them out :) I hope that at least clarifies where I was coming from ;) Writing is a learning process and I learnt from my mistakes. With that said, I appreciate your criticism but I do believe difficult words help us grow as authors. It's about having a good balance between the two, which I probably did not have in this particular story hahaha.

Please don't use 25 cent words just for the sake of using 25 cent words. You're actually a good writer and you don't need to impress anyone. This story is good, but my guess is that the average reader would have to go look up "fructuous" and you misused both "dubious" and "demure".

I think your writing is promising and would flow a lot of more smoothly if you just kept it natural. of course, you can tell me to go sod off, what do I know? Incidentally, this is intended in the spirit of helpfulness, unasked for though it may be. :)

Author's Response: naw man, I totally agree. Every time I get constructive criticism I like to go back and read it from that point of view, and if enough time has passed, I usually cringe at how I missed some things in the first place. I like to try and force myself to learn new words and find things I wouldn't normally say, but it is true that sometimes it jars the flow of the writing if it's too different from the style. sleepless was a very good story but a little weird

This is one of the best stories I have read on this site it was a really good read and that twist I never saw it coming it came out of nowhere and hit me In the face really such an intresting story I never even knew that was a disease! But seriously awesome story and I love the end I give it 5 stars *****
