I can imagine you got a lot of shouts for this little cliffhanger. It definitely distracts from the rest of the chapter - which I thought was really well done. I liked seeing the realistic handling of 'late to school' and, well, didn't like seeing Tom endure the other parents but it was well done!

Loved that Janni wasn't the perfect little kid in this - the food dropping and bubble loving. Adorable and made it seem much more realistic. I thought Simone was nicely done - and the comment about helping her off the floor seems a very familiar 'grandma-thing' lol.

Okay, fast seeing why everyone's entranced with this - I loved the portrayal of Bill, though the fact he stops to think about what kids mean seems to be a testimony to the fact it could turn out fine. Loved the exchange with David, too. I thought the little details - Tom picking up the toy from the stairs - just made it so much more complete.
