oh i most definitely think you gave them the ending they deseve, and so, so much more. when i saw this had been updated a part of me didn't want to read because then it would all be over :O but i'm so SO happy to hear you'll be writing more of Janni and these wonderful characters you've created. Oh i'm so attached to this fic, i adore everything about it, and i did from the get-go. I think the whole idea was just fabulous, and executed perfectly :) oh jeez, i'm all teary again, i really can't believe how much i've grown to love this, and now it's over! Wow wow wow, this is beyond good, this is sublime! Thank you for writing it, it was a joy to read :) definitely looking forward to see more from these characters ^^ take care!

Tears. I have tears in my eyes. Thank you for giving us this story, Mel. Your Bill, Tom, Janni...they have a special place in my fanfiction heart and I'm so glad to hear this won't be the last we get to see of them.
I loved watching Bill and Tom come together, fall in love, fight for their love...it was all so perfect and I absolutely adooore Janni, so much. She's such a sweet little girl. She almost feels real, as strange as that might sound.
A beautiful ending for a beautiful story.

I don't think I could possibly come up with a proper review to justify how wonderful this chapter is to me. ♥ The struggle with religion and being gay is one that's particularly resonant with me, and this trial and the attitudes displayed by various people present rang very true.
This story is so much more than a love story; it's a family story, and it deals with an issue that, shameful to say, our society is still struggling with today.
One of the passages that I enjoyed the most was Ms. Robertson's cross-examination of Reverend Lilly. It's such a difficult thing to deal with - not merely that attitude but the way they try to impose their beliefs on others.
The judge was amazing. He was such a stellar example of everything our legal system can be, at its best. :)
And with the win, Tom and Janni and Bill are so adorable together, so right and meant to be. This story absolutely warms my heart so much. I've loved the journey they have all gone through. I've read and re-read this story and I KNOW I'll be reading it again. Wonderful work, Mel. This is a book I would be proud to line up on my shelf. :) You're an amazing writer.

I'm so glad this turned out in their favor! The way you wrote the court scene had me on the edge of my seat, and I think that's a difficult thing to accomplish in a written format. Perfect :) I thought it was awesome that all the arguments used in this chapter directed toward the Bible's and Christians' views of homosexuality in general are the very same ones I bring up when I argue with my ~overy religious~ grandma. Loved the chapter ♥
Author's Response: You know, it's funny that I wrote this, and just a couple nights ago, I had this same discussion with my mother, who has become very religious in the last few years. She honestly had no better answers than the minister in the story, and my mother is a lay minister. xD

oh my god! I don't know what i can say to give this justice! i'm all teary eyed xD you wrote the whole court scene so professionally, you'd make some lawyer (that is, if you aren't one already!) the level of your writing is just absolutely top! I'm always finding myself cooing at it and wowing. Oh wow, i'm all fluttery! when the judge announced his verdict i literally broke into the biggest, happiest grin :D even now i can't stop smiling! Oh jesus, how on earth can i tell you how much i adore this? I don't think i can, it's far too perfect for words! i can't believe only an epilogue left, i just want this to last forever, just follow their lives haha xD this is one of my favourites ever and so is your writing, it's managed to completely blow me away :O take care!

This chapter was a little hard for me to read, just mainly because of the questioning of the Minister. Personally, I do really hate overly conservative religious people, but being somewhat religious myself and having been brought up in that background, it was a little bit of a hard thing for me to get past. However, I did enjoy the outcome of the chapter, so, all's well.

I did run this by several friends who had been raised Christian (as was I) and are still Christian, so I figured my bases were covered, as they weren't bothered. This court scene was GREAT! And so authentic, I must add. Wow, very intense and well done. I was following each word so carefully, smiling and internally rejoicing as the lawyer just NAILED those witnesses! Ahh. I'm very happy now.
