In an alternate universe, the author is at liberty to strip the twin status away or leave it on at their own discretion. Somehow you managed to get the best of both worlds. At school, they might as well be strangers, but they both know they're brothers. And on top of that, you also have the added drama of all the things Tom did to drive Bill off initially. If I hadn't read it, I don't think I'd believe it. It's a really good story and I really wasn't expecting them to be brothers until you let it slip.
I really like the way that Bill's been handling the loss of his brother. Taking pictures of the one person you used to have unconditionally, following that person around, and even dressing up like the twin you lost is incredibly convincing and I thought Tom displayed a very appropriate amount discomfort at the thought. Simone's concern is very touching as well, stronger for the son she's raised the most but still present for the son she didn't. Very well done; I can't wait for the next chapter!

Aahhhh...love this fic sooo much. I've always loved high school based fics, and this one is reeeeally good so far! I love how Bill is actually kinda manlier than most make him out to be.
Maybe you could talk a little more about how their relationship was before Tom denies knowing him...or is that coming up?
