If they'd been living in our world, Bill totally would have lived. He just got a nasty flu and no one there knew how to fix it, but with the Emperor breathing down their neck to do something for Bill, they kept throwing things at him that might not have been the best.

Actually, the only scar I know of real Tom is his cheek scar (which ppl keep mentioning but I can't see), from when he cut it on the corner of a glass table. I don't know about a scar by his eyebrow...
Author's Response: Tom totally has both, though having the sweatbands and hats and bandanas do make the eyebrow one hard to spot. It took me a long time to give in to reading stories with tom/tom pairing, but this is absolutely my favorite series right now. I love it. Very well done!

Author's Response: Technically he didn't have to. Normally that would have been it for him and Prince's, but then Tom sort of fell into his world and things worked out in an odd and interesting way.

The series its self is done, but I'll probably end up dabbling around in it from time to time for the sake of cookies and such. Basai's still got life in her yet. :)

I'm not gonna lie, that was gut-wrenching to read. Anyone whose ever watched a loved one slowly dieing knows the feeling. You put it in to words horribly well, I was in tears before it ended. I'm enjoying your back stories very much.

I am very much not yet done reviewing your lovely collection of Basai stories but wanted to sound you out on a thought, because your cookies are a departure from the norm but also delightful. It was an offhand comment of Tom's/E's during "A Little Visit" that got the wheels turning but I also got the thought reinforced here... What would have happened if the mirror had brought Bill to the Emperor as he'd intended, but it was a Bill who'd lost his Tom, as the Emperor lost his Prince Bill? Do you think that's a cookie that might tickle your fancy? *tries to look kittenishly hopeful*
I'd had a similar thought (Bill loses Tom; ends up in alternate reality where that Tom has lost his Bill) before reading Basai, but this universe made me give up hope on writing that idea. Would love to see it as a Basai cookie, if you were so inclined.
Author's Response: Immediately, off the top of my head, I would think that, in that story, Bill would have stayed. He would have been against it at first, more than likely resisted the Emperor's advances (depending, of course, on the relationship he had with HIS Tom on his side), which would have made the Emperor AMAZINGLY sad, but in the end, it would come down to a choice. Bill could go back to his world, his friends, his life there, and continue being without Tom. Or he could stay in Basai and be LOVED beyond measure, treated like a gift from the gods, and have his Tom back, in a way.
And, perhaps, starting a relationship of an intimate nature with this other Tom, who isn't REALLY his brother, after all, might not be all that bad....
