My two favorite characters in the story have to be Bill & Tom. Well for Bill, I just like his attitude towards all the people that made him feel like shit..And for Tom into not pushing Bill into anything he wasn't ready for.

Bill.. All the way! [& not just b/c I understand what he went through] but b/c he was able to help himself. He did the one thing not many could do - he FACED those who hurt him. He ISslowly into a better person. I also LOVE Tom in this as well, only because he NEVER gave up on Bill. Even when his mom was threatening homeschool on him. He still stayed by Bill's side.
You should already know I LOVE this story!!
