Summary:
In Lynne Weidemann's world vampirism started out as a genetic defect. You were born a vampire, though you lived like a normal human until puberty. That's when your heart rate would slow, as well as your aging. Sunlight didn't hurt you, and though you did need to drink blood, you could still eat regular food, it just wouldn't satisfy your hunger as well. Scientists started trying to fix the defect immediately, well, as soon as they got past the initial shock. Instead of fixing it however, they caused it to mutate. Now, not only can you be born with it, but you can be turned as well.

Lynne has never met a vampire before, so when she finds one half dead in her backyard, she's a little nervous, to say the least. When he wakes up, she finds out his name is Tom, but he can't remember anything else about himself or how he ended up in her backyard. Lynne wants to help him, but neither of them knows what she is getting herself into, will she survive?
