Their breath came out in visible puffs as they spoke softly to each other. Bill wraps his arms around his knees and leans back against the cold metal of the play structure. The sky was clear, not a cloud in the navy blue expanse and quite a few stars for this part of the city. Bill laughed at something Tom said, and put his hood over his face to hide his blush. As he stared at his knees, silent, he waited. Suddenly, his hood slid slowly off, and Tom's cold fingers were at his chin, pulling his face up. Bill had just a glimpse of the November night sky before Tom's face came down and their lips met. Bill's heart stopped beating; the ground dropped out from beneath him; Tom's lips moving on his were the only thing that existed. There's no such thing as happily ever after.
