Tom, his own twin had been convinced by his best friend - Gustav - that Bill must've done the crime. He didn't visit Bill once in the six years that he'd been locked up, he didn't want anything to do with him after he started believing Gustav.
Simone, their mother, visited once and then never again. Why? Because she couldn't stand to be in that prison, to see her son locked up. However she never gave Bill a reason, never wrote letters or anything.
His own family had abandoned him. The only person who hadn't was his best friend Georg, who wrote him letters after he'd moved to London to go to university. Georg was his only insight to the outside world whilst in prison. Georg was the only one he didn't loathe.
So, what's going to happen when Tom comes home to find him sat in the flat that they once shared?
What does he do when he finds out that Gustav had manipulated him into hating his own twin and believing he could've been a cold-hearted murderer. When in fact, Bill was innocent after all?
Well, we'll just have to see how things turn out. Bill can't lock himself away in his room forever, and give his family the same treatment that they'd given him.. Right?
