That was a great story. I'm a Black female and even I feel the fear. Your writing is real and this made me cry just thinking about the reality of it all in 2016!! I hope this opens some eyes and hearts. Thank you for writing this.

I'm sorry about your uncle. It never really goes away and I'm not sure if it ever gets better because a loss creates a void in your conscience I think. Well for me it does, there is always the feeling of something missing.

I'm starting to wonder why people don't generally class this a police violence. Yes it's the African-American that's being targeted but why do people take issue with the 'branded name'. Black lives will matter to someone who has black people in their lives. I do watch the news and yes it did seem like a trend after a while. But these are all people, human beings so I say lives matter in general. Not to detract from the issue of current events.
We're you personally affected? It's written that way.

Also I cannot stand to look at that guy. Everyone I know thinks he's hot except me lol am I weird. Boris is way hotter imo.

Author's Response: Yeah, I lost a uncle to the police violence. I think it's dumb that everyone who's died has been reduced to a hashtag and no matter what we say or do nothing changes. They don't consider it police violence because to the world we are not people. I cannot tell you how many times the cops have stopped me and I felt scared that I would be reduced to a hashtag. I think the movement went BlackLivesMatter because when someone who isn't a person of color dies, there's so much done to see why it happened. Especially if it's a murder. However, when it's a person of color, people just assume the cop or whatever was in the right or just doing their job because that person was probably selling drugs or doing something illegal. It's ignored. That's the reason why it's become such a huge deal, I think. I do believe all lives matter but at the same time it's like that doesn't change the fact that there are so many ignored black lives being snuffed out and no one is doing anything about it. This has been happening for ages and now it's escalating. rnrnBoris is way hotter but I thought for this, I kind of pictured Shemar Moore.rnrnThanks for your review, I really loved reading it.
