First I must say that I'm not familiar with the possible serius this belongs to, so I read this as an individual oneshot. :)
Song fics are difficult, but i think you merged the song and the story nicely. I also liked how they were older and the complexity of relationships was present in this. For that, the song was a perfect match. In a way it was so sad. Sad in a good way. :)
vtw, fore some reason I really liked the following part:
Bill sighed an identical one to mine. “What do you want Tom?”
“Closure.”
There was a long pause and I could tell he wished that he hadn’t taken off those glasses.

OMG... it`s not just that I cry.. it`s like... ooh girl u left with a terrible mood for the rest of the day..
I guess marrying to Tom woudln`t be any difference in te real life... probably almost the same thing... knowing what kind of person he is..
This is a very interesting story,though fiction it still brings a lot of reality into it... I guess because that is very probable to happen.. when HE gets married one day. I`m sure he`ll never give up on his women. But still I bet that will happen after some long time after marriage .... even if he`s such a PLAYboy.. he will still make the marriage the choice of his life and he`ll be respectful to the one he loves... that`s my opinion at least!

wow. that story made me so sad i considered crying. i don't do stuff like that though.
i was just sad because you made me hate tom. or the tom in the story anyways, and the story seemed so real i can totally envision it happening in maybe twenty years.
so i just wanted to add that you're a really excellent writer and that was a really mature concept for someone your age!! not that i'm much older...
great job! you don't have to write more, but if you feel inspired, i'd love to read more.
i hope tom would chase after her and stop sleeping with other women.
