Thank you-it does often end in crying, and I liked that you included that. Thank you.
Date: 09/22/14 10:11 pm Title: Blaming the Victim
Agreed...it doesn't help in the long run. It's stressful.
Date: 06/18/13 12:15 am Title: Righting the Wrongs
Aw... poor boys, will you things better for them eventually? ether way I liked the story.
Date: 06/18/13 12:12 am Title: Blaming the Victim
I in joyed the story very much.

Forst of all, nice to see you posting. :)
This fic had something very fragile and real in it. The emotions or reactions didn't go over or too dramatic. It was just general resistance, fatique, sadness, but something with a long-term illness often feels (I know it, I'm there myself with some other illness). Twins relationship was pretty, especially the ending. Nice job. :)

I was confused about the g-tube because I thought Bill was doing decently. Either situation is likely though, that Bill isn't doing well or healthcare is being too proactive.
The new DSM is bleh in some ways. I've heard a lot about how Asperger's Syndrome isn't going to be a thing anymore, but it will be lumped in with autism spectrum disorder. That's the most I know about it. What is it doing with eating disorders?
Date: 05/18/13 05:05 pm Title: Feeding the Hungry
He's getting a g-tube and what, being admitted to the clinic again? *confused*
Author's Response: Bill had only been home for the weekend, and finds out upon his return to the clinic that not only is he getting a tube - he had had a nasogastric tube when he first arrived at the clinic - but a g-tube meant for long-term weight gain, hinting that either Bill's case does not look very positive/hopeful, or that the mental health industry is overstepping boundaries to solve the problem of Bill's eating disorder in the most shallow way possible, i.e. forced weight gain (without working with the patient first). Perhaps I had too much of my criticisms in mind - with the new DSM version coming out and everything - that I didn't convey the greater situation as much as I would have liked to.

Is the tube really necessary for him? Isn't that for last resort measures is someone refuses to eat at all?
Author's Response: The tube is usually meant to be a "last resort" measure; however, it is not only put into effect when an ed-sufferer refuses to eat at all. Tubes can also be used for further providing supplements, regulating eating habits, in response to gastrointestinal problems that are effects of the eating disorder, or for other reasons. The question "Is the tube really necessary for him?" is something that I tried to make ambiguous throughout the story, hinting that although Bill is not as "well" as he was expected to be after five months of treatment, the clinic team, including Bill's parents, has clearly overstepped their boundaries regarding Bill's road to recovery and that their solution is a simple/inappropriate response to a complex psychological problem (Bill is unable to discuss how he feels about the decision to the team, despite the paradoxical setting of group therapy room where Bill is supposed to say what is on his mind, demonstrating a greater failure in his treatment up until this point).

I'm pretty sure I love every single one of your stories. There's so much emotion behind this one shot. I hope you update some of your other gems soon, too :)
Author's Response: Hopefully I'll get a chance to. I've been working on some updates, but none of them are ready to see the light of THF quite yet. Thanks for the review!

This is the first story I've read in this series so I need to check out the others. Just had to say it was brilliant.
Author's Response: Thanks for the review!

This is absolutely astounding. Clear as mountain rain, flowing like a mountain river, wholly believable (it's even stupid to say believable, it's beyond believable - it's just cut out from a real life situation like this one). I hurt for Bill and his brother (a little bit for the rest of the family but now super much - parents who feel bad for themselves when their child suffers... no - it's okay to say "it's hard" but come on...), but I'm holding on to the sheer, fragile hope that flickers somewhere in there as well.

Ouch :/ Bill just keeps running into people-shaped problems... Probably made even worse because it's usually females who have eating disorders. You might have written a oneshot in this series addressing that, but I forget now :/
Tom is really the only person he has, which is utterly sweet and sad at the same time.

What a f**king 'supportive' family. It's hard for me to comprehend families not being there for a loved one who is suffering. To make Bill feel like he is nothing and his opinion means squat is so hurtful and damaging. No wonder he has an eating disorder. I'm so happy that Tom is there for him because I sure don't want to see Bill die so hopefully Tom's love will help him turn his life around. Loved it. :)

Finally got around to reading this part of the series. Your writing is very clear and is helping me to understand what people with eating disorders go through. What a horrible, debilitating, lonely disease. My kids had their share of problems but thankfully not when it came to eating. I hope Bill makes it out of this alive and stronger. I am now on to the next part. Love this. Danke. :)

Poor Bill! When one thing is wrong with you, apparently everything is wrong with you. I'm glad Bill's on the feeding tube to supplement oral feedings. The scheduling with g-tubes can be strict! Also, what food is given and how much...
I'm so glad Tom is there for him, and that Bill didn't hear his grandpa's comments (though I'm sure he's heard plenty before). It's all about one's views... Their granddad doesn't understand and views it different than Bill's family, who also don't completely understand like Tom, who comes the closest to understanding. There are so many cultural influences on eating and mealtimes, it's insane. So Bill and his grandparents are having a culture clash! I wish they were more supportive but there's a gap in their understanding.
Thanks for writing these stories! It's so true to life and I love to learn about it.

I love reading these stories! Reminds me so much of what a struggle it was with myself.. and still is to be honest. It never leaves you... Ana is with you always, sadly... I'm really glad you write this, makes me feel like I'm not alone, as stupid as it sounds.. :)

Oooh! This was pretty sad and made me want to stab Klaus with a fork. But the very end was very sweet! Another great story from you, I love this whole series!..I was just wondering...Do you know when you're gonna update How To Climb Trees? :)
Author's Response: This series is one of my favorites to work on, so I'm glad you enjoy it so much. I'm actually working on the next chapter of How To Climb Trees at the moment, and I'm hoping to update relatively soon. Sorry for the wait, and thanks for being patient :)
Date: 01/08/12 06:03 pm Title: Righting the Wrongs
I would love to see this as a continueing story not just one here and there
Author's Response: I'll keep that in mind! :D
