Cute story! Like a fairy tale,

Okay, even TODAY it takes time to marshal troops for battle. In THIS time period, it takes much longer than "ASSEMBLE TO PALACE GUARD TO FULL ARMS!" to take people to battle. I left a mostly historical note as my last review of the first one in this series, too, but really. If you don't know much about a time period you're writing about (even if it's AU, it's still based in a certain kind of time period), then you have to RESEARCH the time period you're writing about. You have to know what was common in that time, what would be relevant in that time, what would make sense in that time. You don't have to know everything, of course - no one would expect that, especially from an AU. But you should at least know what kind of customs are likely to be observed concerning things important to your story. For this series, that means (or WOULD mean, if you hadn't discontinued this, but I'll get to that in a bit) that you have to understand the customs concerning royal and/or noble marriages, as well as the protocol with mistresses (because that's basically what a pleasure slave is). You should understand the terms of respect given to certain nobles/royals (for instance, that a prince would be "Your Highness" not "Your Majesty"), although, since it's AU, that's not QUITE as important. Now, as to the "discontinued." I get that you lost all the stuff on your computer. But why does that mean that you have to stop writing a story that people like? (I confess that, although I find it rather Twilight-esque, I do still like it.) You have the chapters posted on here, why not just copy them to your new computer and continue the story. I know it's disheartening when a story you're in the middle of gets deleted - it happened to me twice in the same story - but that's not excuse not to come back to it eventually. For a while you can leave it, sure, but you should come back to it. I find it best not to leave things unfinished. That's why, whenever I feel like writing but don't know what to write, I go back to my old, not-posted-yet stories, and I try writing more of the story to them. I urge you to continue this story, so that the people who had been reading it can have their ending =)

I have several things to say, about half of them good, the other half criticism. Firstly, the grammar was pretty good in this fic. There were occasionally mistakes, but nothing major =) Second... even if a slave and a royal DID fall in love, they would never get married. The prince/princess would marry for the prestige of his/her family, and it would be understood that there was no love in the arrangement. The prince/princess would be allowed to keep his/her lover (usually), as long as (if it were a princess) she did not get pregnant. A prince would be allowed to keep his lover as long as he produced an heir. Yes, there would be tension, but there would not have been torture and threats. Well, perhaps threats, but not death threats. Also, didn't Tom give an order that Bill - as his personal slave - would be allowed to fight back if anyone who wasn't Tom tried to do anything to him? *shakes head* There were a LOT of inconsistencies in this. You compared it to Twilight once. I agree with that, not because it was as bad as Twilight (I actually liked your story quite a lot, despite my criticism of it), but because there were certain inconsistencies that just didn't make sense. I tried to suspend disbelief, but it didn't work. As I said, despite my criticism, I did actually like the story. It was sweet and fluffy, with just enough drama to make the sweetness of the fluff good, instead of bad. (Sometimes TOO much sweetness can be a bad thing, after all.) Therefore, well done. I have to wonder how Tom will have an heir, but still, well done ^-^

Well... ACTUALLY, since Bill is Tom's pleasure slave, technically, it's perfectly fine for them to be... well, they can't MARRY, but it's not unheard of for a monarch to keep a mistress. It doesn't even sound like that's unheard of in here, considering that it was "Tom's right" to pick a pleasure slave. Tom breaking other rules is a different matter, but Tom falling in love with his pleasure slave and his pleasure slave falling in love with Tom is probably perfectly acceptable, as long as Tom marries a nice girl and produces an heir.

And I see you said this story is abandoned :( If after a year you still don't have it in you, perhaps another writer would be willing to finish it for you. How many chapters was this going to be?

PS: I love that Bill and Tom are together now. Honestly, they're stronger together, as long as Tom doesn't have to constantly worry about protecting Bill, which I'm pretty sure he would do anyway. It's good to see Bill being able to defend himself and to be on the offense as well.

But I love that Bill had his first time with someone he loved, not by rape.
